ASSOCIATIONS

*  Dennis Sheets of Sheets Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge of Beckley was elected chairman of the West Virginia Automobile and Truck Dealers Association for 2011-2012 during the association's recent convention at The Greenbrier. He succeeds Hal Green of Harry Green Chevrolet, Clarksburg. Also elected: Ernie Davis of Hometown Motors and Beckley Auto Mall, vice-chairman; and John Jenkins of Jenkins Ford, Buckhannon, secretary/treasurer.

Elected directors-at-large: Wally Thornhill of Thornhill Superstore, Chapmanville; Charles Rashid of Charleston Suzuki of St. Albans; and Rodney Lerose II of Midstate Chevrolet, Sutton. Newly elected to the Board of Directors: David Weaver of Wheeling Automotive Group, Wheeling: Pete Lopez of Spencer Automotive, Spencer; Robin Blankenship of I-77 Ford, Ripley; Jeff Davis of Markwood Dodge, Moorefield; and Jack Stewart of Country Club Chrysler, Jeep Dodge, Clarksburg. Richard Stephens of Stephens Auto Center, Danville, was elected to represent West Virginia on the National Automobile Dealers Association's Board of Directors.

Tom Cole of Cole Chevrolet-Cadillac, Bluefield, continues to chair WVCAR, the association's state political action committee. Dan Wharton Sr. of Wharton Automotive Group, Parkersburg, continues to chair the Dealers Election Action Committee, the national political action committee.
