2007 Dunkin Donuts Scholarships - Taman Siswa - Education News

As part of a community partnership program and a continued commitment to local education, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees will award 100, $1,000 scholarships to qualified high school seniors in Connecticut.

This is the fourth year of a very successful scholarship program that has donated more than $350,000 to Connecticut students to date. This year the application process will be completely online at www.dunkindonuts.com/scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the fall of 2007.

Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of “well rounded” character: positive academics record, demonstrated leadership, commitment to school and community activities and experience in the work environment. In addition, full-time and part-time employees of Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees who meet the scholarship requirements are eligible and encouraged to apply. There is no escaping the fact that college costs are rising. According to the College Board, average tuition and fees for a private college are expected to increase by more than 6 percent this year. “We are aware of the challenges families face in financing a college education, says Michael Batista, Connecticut franchisee. “The franchisees of Dunkin’ Donuts are very proud to provide these scholarships to help the families we see and serve everyday.” Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees have partnered with the Connecticut Association of Schools and Scholarship America to administer the scholarship program and selection process.

The deadline date for all online applications is March 31 .

All applicants will be notified of the final selection by mid-June. Scholarship winners will be recognized during an awards ceremony with the franchise owners and state dignitaries at the end of June. The official terms, requirements and application information are available at www.dunkindonuts.com/scholarship, Connecticut Dunkin’ Donuts shops or by contacting the Connecticut Association of Schools at (203) 250-1111.
