MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) – The man who led investigators on a massive manhunt last month is behind bars.

Investigators say they still don't know where Dean Lampkin had been hiding out since May. The 24-year-old man was pulled over by police on May 11th for a traffic stop. But instead of stopping, police say Lampkin sped off in a green Honda to a mobile home park on Shannonwood Drive.

Police say he then jumped from the car and ran into a wooded area carrying what was described as an assault rifle. The Honda then crashed into a parked car, and a passenger inside was detained by police. During the search police canvassed the area near Old Highway 52 and Bradley Road for any sign of Lampkin, who officials described as armed and dangerous.

At one point during the search Berkeley County K-9, Moncks Corner police, and SWAT searched an apartment unit at the Saint Francis Villas Apartments. Police say they seized a total of three guns in addition to a bullet proof vest.

"SWAT team was called out, probably 30 officers out that day," Moncks Corner Police Lt. Michael Roach said.

But police couldn't find Lampkin. All they had was his name, his photograph and quite the history.

"He's got several charges with possession of firearm, shooting into a dwelling, shooting a pistol unlawfully, fleeing from the police. He doesn't want to stop," Lt. Roach said.

But, late Tuesday night a Berkeley County K-9 unit deputy stopped Lampkin when he pulled over a vehicle in which Lampkin was reportedly a passenger. The officer said he realized Lampkin was a wanted man.

Lt. Roach says he plans on attending the bond court hearing scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday and knows exactly what he will tell the judge.

"He has an extensive criminal history, he's a definite flight risk. He's run several times. He's run since this incident date and a danger to the community," Lt. Roach said.

The investigator says he hopes that's enough to keep Lampkin locked up at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center until his trial. Police charged him with possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property.

At one point, Berkeley County Sheriff's investigators were considering Lampkin as a person of interest in the murder of 23-year-old Chad Williams, who was shot to death at a home on Gladiola Way in Saint Stephen. Authorities say he is no longer suspected in the case.

Two years ago my husband and I decided it was time to upgrade our 27″ tube television to a huge 50″ flat screen TV.  It seemed like we were the only one out of friends and families that still had this old TV in our home.  It was a gift to both of us for Christmas.  The funny thing is we had a large TV stand, so we didn’t really need a new one, but I did want to sell our current stand as it  has seen better days.  The wood is chipped from kids banging toys off it, the handles are tied with a shoe string to keep the daycare kids out of the cupboards and the center shelf is no where to be found.  Pretty sad right?  Why do TV stands take such a beating?

Our living room remodel is approaching, which means searching for new furniture, home decor, accent pieces, and a wall decor.   We have our new sectional and chair chose, so it’s time to think about corner tv stands for flat screens since ours is large.    Our living room is odd shaped so a corner stand might not be our best choice, unless we move it to the opposite side of the house.  We have not made that decision yet.  If I choose to keep the TV where it currently is, which is on a large wall, I really like  this TV Stand for flat screen tvs

This would be a welcoming addition to our newly remodeled living room, and perfect for the frigid winter months.  So my question to those who have TVs on a wall or in a corner, which do you prefer?  We have always had a basic stand on a straight wall but I really like the looks of corner stands.  I am uncertain about this decision, and need some help!

My husband wants a huge tv. We were looking at them at Target. But we have a weird tv stand.. as it’s more like a unit. I hate it but it does hold a lot of crap. But if we got a big tv it wouldn’t fit. I figured mounting it to the wall? But I think our walls may suck. So I dunno! I don’t want it where the kids can be playing with it though haha.
