On The Border: Let the fiesta begin
“Like a hacienda with bright murals on the wall,” you will notice the vibrant stucco walls and earthen artifacts, as signature beer chandeliers are cast above. The management strives hard to make it a combination of a place where you can hang out with friends or family, order a few margaritas and indulge in their typical Mexican cuisine.
On the Border offers fresh, bold flavors, as the grill is central to their seasoned cooking. Bringing the comfort of the old with the best of the new, it has a new set menu with a veracity of options to choose from.
Their appetizers range from the traditional Mexican range with complimentary chips and salsa. Street-style mini tacos are a clever treat. They consist of mini corn tortillas served open-faced with seasoned fajita steak or chicken, grilled onion and Jack cheese, and are served with fresh avocado, pico de gallo and red chile-tomatillo salsa. The Border Sampler compromises of chicken quesadillas, steak nachos and chicken flautas, which are served with guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and original queso.
Their best selling appetizers are the grande fajita nachos, firecracker stuffed jalapenos, and their freshly made Guacamole Live! or Queso Live! which are prepared at your table side.
Their firecracker stuffed jalapenos, tempura-battered jalapeños stuffed with mixed cheese and chicken, serve six. Their Texas wings are plump and juicy, lightly breaded and tossed in Jalapeño-BBQ sauce.
For a healthy treat, try their salads and soup. The citrus chipotle chicken salad consists of a premium chicken breast tossed in fat-free mango citrus vinaigrette with peppers, red onions, tomatoes, corn, queso fresco and crunchy jícama. Their chicken tortilla soup is cooked on low heat with rice and vegetables and then topped with fresh avocado.
For drinks, they offer their signature fruit margaritas — mango-passion, strawberry, watermelon, pomegranate, wildberry and guava — as well as Mojitos, which are served on the rocks with a new twist of fresh mint, lemonade and monin mojito mix.
When asked what initiated the need for a new menu, the management replied: "We researched and brought out a new menu to give our customers a wider choice of Mexican dishes to excite their taste buds and deliver the true Mexican fiesta in every bite, which are now at more affordable prices."
Adding veracity to the grill items, their tomatillo chicken compromises of a grilled chicken breast topped with their freshly made tomatillo sauce, pico de gallo and queso fresco, which is served with sautéed vegetables and cilantro lime rice. Their Queso chicken consists of a tender grilled chicken breast topped with creamy chile con queso sauce and fresh sliced avocado, served with sautéed vegetables and cilantro lime rice.
